UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State students can get ahead by adding a minor or certificate or catch up by focusing on courses needed to complete a program by enrolling in summer courses.
For undergraduate students who need to take at least one summer course to graduate on time but who are facing financial challenges to doing so, the Summer Success Scholarship can help.
Undergraduate students at all Penn State campuses, including Penn State World Campus, are eligible to apply. Students who receive the scholarship will receive $2,000 toward their summer tuition. To be eligible, students must:
Students are encouraged to apply before the April 18 deadline at summer.psu.edu/scholarship. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Registration for summer 2025 courses at all Penn State campuses opens on Feb. 4. Students are encouraged to check with their academic adviser on how summer courses can support their success or help them catch up in a specific area.
Students can choose from thousands of summer courses at 20 Penn State campuses or online through World Campus to craft the schedule that works for them. Find summer 2025 course offerings in LionPATH and more detailed course descriptions in the University Bulletin.
Instruction begins for Maymester courses on May 12, Summer Session I courses on May 19 and Summer Session II courses on July 2.
Students who are experiencing hardship and need immediate support with basic needs should visit the Basic Needs and Support page available through Student Care and Advocacy in Penn State Student Affairs.
Students who are graduating in summer or fall 2025 and who are enrolling in summer courses should also consider applying for the Complete Penn State Program.
The Penn State Chaiken Center for Student Success is part of Penn State Undergraduate Education and is located at 325 Boucke Building on the University Park campus. The center provides proactive support and tailored interventions to help undergraduate students develop essential skills, navigate academic transitions, and foster a sense of connection and belonging. Other University Chaiken Centers are housed within the College of Information Sciences and Technology, College of the Liberal Arts, Penn State Abington and Penn State World Campus.
