Tacoma’s Making a Difference Foundation has announced the recipients of its 2025 scholarship program — its largest class to date.
Forty-fix students pursuing higher education were awarded the $1,500 scholarship. This year’s recipients included students attending community colleges, technical schools, and state schools.
“Education opens doors to opportunities that can transform not only individual lives but entire communities. We are thrilled to expand our scholarship program this year to support even more future leaders,” Ahndrea Blue, president and CEO of the Making a Difference Foundation, said in a press release. “Each of these students embodies resilience, purpose, and a commitment to making a difference.”
Twenty-five out of the 46 students awarded attend schools in Washington.
The schools represented include Bellevue College, the University of Washington, Gonzaga University, Seattle Central College, Washington State University, Western Washington University, Tacoma Community College, Seattle University, Everett Community College, Grays Harbor College, Clover Park Technical College, Bates Technical College, and Seattle Pacific University.
For more than 20 years, MADF has worked to provide annual scholarships to college-bound youths to help cover room and board, tuition, books, and supplies, the release noted.
