OSWEGO—The Shah Family has announced its 2024 Class of Shah Scholars. This is the third year the family has worked directly with high schools in Cato-Meridian, Hannibal, Mexico, APW, and Sandy Creek. The Tarandi Foundation, working in conjunction with the Fulton Rotary Club, also awards scholarships to two students at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton, NY.
The Shah Scholars include a minimum of two scholarships at each school, which range in value from $500 to $1,000.
The Dr. Manjula Ravindra Shah Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has excelled in academics, has participated in either visual or performing arts, and will be pursuing a 4-year college degree following graduation.
The Brig. Gen Dr. Ravindra Fulchand Shah Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has excelled in academics, demonstrated leadership potential, and will attend vocational school following graduation.
In any given year, scholarships may also be awarded to additional students who showed excellence in performing or visual arts.
The scholarships honor the memory of Brig. Gen Dr. Ravindra Fulchand Shah and his wife, Dr. Manjula R. Shah, were local community physicians. The scholarships commemorate the Shah family’s commitment to higher education and interest in supporting academic excellence. “We are excited to work with these school districts and the Fulton Rotary Club to support local students who have shown both commitment and motivation to continuing their education journey,” Neelesh Shah said. “My parents were strong advocates of education, and we are fortunate enough to maintain their legacy.”
Since 2021, 45 students have received over $50,000 in scholarship support from the Tarandi Foundation.
