Taylor High School seniors were awarded nearly $1 million in scholarships at the school’s annual awards program.
Two new scholarships were awarded in memory of Taylor teachers Sarah Fleek and Cindy Mapes. Those recipients were Krishi Patel and Tory Stiller, respectively.
Rylee Morris earned the Principal’s Leadership Award, determined by high school principal Brandon Gleason.
The award recognizes a student who displays leadership in extracurricular activities and strong academic performance.
Morris is involved in National Honor Society, Art Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board. She also received the National African-American Recognition Award.
She participated in volleyball, marching band and Historical Society and was a basketball manager. She was class president for four years.
