Team Schierl awards employee with scholarship – Point/Plover Metro Wire

STEVENS POINT — A local Subway associate has earned an international scholarship from the sandwich chain’s parent company.
Katelyn, who works for Team Schierl Companies’ Subway locations in Stevens Point, was awarded a $2,500 Fresh Start Scholarship through Subway corporate. She is studying wildlife ecology and management at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, with plans to focus on wetland restoration after graduation.
Katelyn is one of 250 scholarship recipients worldwide this year. The awards are reserved for current Subway associates who meet corporate eligibility criteria.
Subway launched the scholarship program in 2016 in memory of company co-founder Fred DeLuca.
