Sam & Ash Injury Law celebrated the winners of their 2024 Safe Teen Driving campaign during the First Friday Block Party at Findlay Volkswagen Henderson on Friday.
The event, which featured classic cars, live entertainment, food, and raffle prizes, marked the inaugural year of the campaign.
"This was the inaugural year of our Safe Teen Driving campaign," said Sam Mirejovsky, partner at Sam & Ash Injury Law. "We received over 400 essay entries from students explaining what safe driving means to them and had tremendous support from the Clark County School District and Findlay Volkswagen Henderson to make this campaign successful. We were glad to publicly announce the contest winners at the First Friday Block Party Event, and we look forward to continuing this annual campaign to encourage teens to practice safe driving."
The student winners of the campaign were announced as follows: Andrea Vinluan from West Career and Technical Academy won the grand prize, a 2024 Volkswagen Jetta 1.5T Sport.
Jonathan Dayton from Foothill High School received the first prize, a $2,500 scholarship. Shianne Okervall-Guiterrez from College of Southern Nevada High School, West Campus, was awarded the second prize, a $1,500 scholarship.
Leslie Denton from College of Southern Nevada High School, South Campus, took home the third prize, a $500 cash award.
In addition to the contest announcements, Sam & Ash Injury Law raffled off tickets to Vegas Golden Knights and Henderson Silver Knights games, Sam & Ash roadside crash kits, and a dash cam.
Proceeds from the raffle ticket sales will be donated to Speedway Children's Charities.
"We love any opportunity to celebrate our community while giving back," said Melisa Eichbauer, General Manager at Findlay Volkswagen Henderson. "This First Friday Block Party is not only about amazing cars and great entertainment, it's also about supporting wonderful causes and bringing people together for a night of fun."
