The Charles and Helen Yundt Charitable Foundation is accepting applications for the 2025 Traditional and Non-Traditional scholarship program. Recipients will receive a minimum scholarship of $1,000.00. There may be several scholarships awarded.
The qualifications for the scholarship are:
1. Attends or attended the Vinton-Shellsburg High School
2. Has financial need
3. Has shown a strong work ethic in their everyday life
4. Is currently enrolled or wishes to enroll in a trade or vocational school or community college to pursue a specific trade, skill, certification or degree.
Those applying do not require an impressive academic record to qualify for the scholarship and the Board should give preference to applicants who do not otherwise qualify for academic scholarships. Individuals who graduated from or attended Vinton-Shellsburg High School, no matter their age or how long they have been out of school can apply for the scholarship.
The intent of the scholarship program is to assist students who are willing to invest in their own futures and who demonstrate the work ethic and dedication necessary to complete their training.
Applications are available through the Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District, Farmers Savings Bank & Trust, Kirkwood Community College and Hawkeye Community College websites. Please note – the link provided on the Hawkeye Community College website will route you to the Farmers Savings Bank & Trust website
The application deadline is February 7, 2025.
