OSWEGO ā The Oswego Players announce that Kaden Perry of Mexico High School and Dylan Klefbeck of Oswego High School are the recipients of the troupeās 2025 annual scholarships. Each year, The Oswego Players award the Larry Rose Scholarship and Marion Green Scholarship to Oswego County high school seniors heading to college.
Ā
Oswego Players President Tammy Thompson presented the checks to the winners. She said she believes these scholarships embody a core value of the organization, which is to spark creativity and passion in every individual. She feels that these two fine young men demonstrate this value in abundance.
āIt is The Oswego Playersā pleasure to help the next generation of leaders in our society in any way that we can,ā said Thompson. āWe hope Dylan and Kaden have successful studies at their respective universities and always maintain an interest in the fine arts and theater.ā
Kaden Perry, winner of the Larry Rose scholarship, has studied theatre all through high school, performing onstage and doing a variety of technical functions backstage. He most recently performed as Danny Zuko in āGrease.ā He will be attending SUNY Oswego in the fall to study theatre and criminal justice. Perry has learned that it is important to be yourself and to do what you enjoy rather than what you think other people want you to do.
Dylan Klefbeck, winner of the Marion Green Scholarship, has been doing graphic design for three years. He primarily works on collages and stock photos to represent landscapes and modern imagery and will continue to do so at the University of Buffalo. Klefbeck feels that each piece he creates is important because they represent different aspects of who he is as an individual, and he hopes to inspire people to be the best they can be.
Applicants for each award must be college-bound high school seniors residing in Oswego County with the intent of going on to an accredited two- or four-year institution. They must be majoring in either the performing arts for the Rose scholarship or English writing arts for the Green scholarship. Each scholarship is $250, raised in part thanks to generous donations from the community, and are paid directly to the winner of the award.
The scholarships are in honor of two individuals whose contributions to The Oswego Players merit remembrance and appreciation: Lawrence E. āLarryā Rose, a long-time actor, set builder, technical operator and stage manager with the troupe; and Marion Elizabeth Green, a playwright and performing arts reviewer for the Palladium-Times and patron of The Oswego Players.
