About 472 Michigan high-schoolers are semifinalists for the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, according to contest results released Wednesday.
The National Merit Scholarship Corp., which heads the program measuring individual scholastic ability and potential for success in college studies, announced the names of more than 16,000 students who were semifinalists Wednesday, Sept. 10.
