Hillsdale Hospital has announced the recipients of scholarships under the 2025 Future of Nursing Academic Assistance Program, according to a community announcement.
The selected students are Courtney Rodifer and Teagan Arredondo from Hudson High School and Kylee Barnett from Coldwater High School. Each recipient will receive up to $10,000 per year for five years to pursue their nursing education.
In return, the students commit to working at Hillsdale Hospital upon completion of their degrees and obtaining their nursing licenses.
The program, which began in 2001, aims to support local students in their nursing careers while encouraging them to remain local.
“These are exceptional young ladies and we’re excited to support them as they pursue a health care career,” wrote Hillsdale Hospital Chief Administrative Officer Stacy Feltz. “We look forward to having them return to Hillsdale Hospital to serve our patients and community.”
Rodifer is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and Health Occupations Students of America. She’s also received recognition in competitive and sideline cheer, cross country and track.
“Hillsdale Hospital is close to where I’ve grown up, and is where I was born,” Rodifer wrote. “I love that Hillsdale Hospital has maintained its independent ownership. I hope to find a supportive and encouraging work environment at Hillsdale.”
Arredondo is involved in the National Honor Society and HOSA, and has volunteered at various sports camps. She’s been recognized as a scholar-athlete in softball, basketball and cross country.
“Hillsdale Hospital is known for its excellent reputation and high-quality care,” Arredondo said. “Their team-oriented environment will allow me to grow, contribute to health care and pursue new opportunities for my future. I’m excited about the potential to make a positive impact at Hillsdale.”
Barnett has earned her certified nursing assistant credential and has spent significant time working and caring for others while balancing a full high school course load.
“I want to help make a difference for others,” Barnett said. “Hillsdale Hospital has helped me growing up, so I would love to be able to help other people who need it.”
