When Paul Boyd was in South Woods State Prison in Cumberland County serving a 12-year sentence for robbery, he had a few jobs he could choose among to earn $1 a day — working as a teacher aide, laying concrete or cutting grass.
Today, he’s mulling over whether he wants to go to Rutgers University or Princeton University to get his Ph.D in the philosophy of science and cognitive science.
