The Rotary Club of Cambridge presented its “Milford Nathan Award” to a student from each of the Dorchester County middle schools.
In 1983, Mrs. Bertha Nathan bequeathed money to the club with the request it be used to recognize the achievements of students in the county. The club established the award, in the name of Nathan, to recognize an eighth grader from North Dorchester Middle School, Maces Lane Middle School and South Dorchester K-8 School. The students are selected by the staff and students from each school.
Students receiving the award for 2025 were Jax Sinkeldam from North Dorchester Middle School, presented by Amy Craig; Maces Lane Middle School’s Stephan Bolden, presented by Angie Hengst; and Kangche Song from South Dorchester K-8, presented by Amanda Hailey. Each student received a cash award for their accomplishment.
