OAKVILLE – Three members of Scouts BSA Troop 52 Oakville were each awarded $2,200 Joseph and Yvonne LeClair Scholarships for 2025.
Sebastian Creter is a senior at Watertown High School where he was a major contributor to the theater program as a set designer and builder. He competed in track and cross country, and participated in Model United Nations. He was a member of the National Honor Society, The World Language Honor Society, and the Art National Honor Society. He served his troop as Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.
Joseph Gonzales has played football for nine years and has his own business making video games and other software. He is graduating from W.F. Kaynor Technical High School and is planning to attend University of New Haven.
Eagle Scout Nathan Oun is a graduate of Holy Cross High School where he was a member of National Honor Society, Student Government, Student Theater, Esports, Rock Band Club, Chess Club and Model U.N. He was Vice President of the Student Council. He was Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 52 and worked on the Camp Mattatuck Staff.
The Joseph and Yvonne LeClair Scholarship was established by Troop 52 in 2009 in honor of a couple who devoted their lives to the Boy Scouts of America. It is funded solely by individual donations. So far, 54 scouts have earned a total of over $64,000 in scholarships.
