UPPER PENINSULA, Mich. (WBUP/WJMN) — Multiple Upper Peninsula public school students were among the recipients of Michigan Education Association (MEA) scholarships.
To be eligible for an MEA scholarship, applicants must be a dependent of an MEA member or retired MEA member in good standing. Applications were judged on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities as well as school and community service.
Out of a total of 319 applications, 24 new award recipients were picked. There were also 25 repeat winners already enrolled in college.
