The assistant clerk to the Onslow County Board of Commissioners has earned a scholarship.
The $1,570 scholarship will allow Lakitha Tolson to earn professional credentials through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, according to information from Onslow County.
The institute is a professional, nonprofit association that promotes continuing education and certification through university and college-based institutes.
When Tolson completes the IIMC clerk’s certification course, she will earn the certified municipal clerk professional designation.
The scholarship will help offset county expenses, according to information from the county.
