Two of Johnson County’s Tri Kappa chapters are offering scholarships to local students.
Tri Kappa is a philanthropic organization formed in Indiana in 1901 for the purpose of charity, culture and education in Indiana communities.
Center Grove, Whiteland scholarship
The Center Grove Zeta Lambda Chapter of Tri Kappa will award scholarships to qualified Center Grove High or Whiteland Community High School seniors.
Academic performance, extra-curricular activities, leadership, work experience and personal statement will be used to determine recipients.
For more information and applications, students should visit their school’s website scholarship page or contact their high school counselors.
Completed applications must be submitted to the high school guidance office by March 14.
Greenwood scholarship
Greenwood High School seniors are invited to apply for one of two scholarships to be given away this year by the Delta Lambda chapter of Tri Kappa.
A Greenwood Tri Kappa scholarship has been awarded to Greenwood High School seniors for more than 30 years.
The Aline Oldaker Memorial Scholarship honors Aline Oldaker, a former teacher in the Greenwood community school system for 31 years and a Tri Kappa member. This scholarship was created in Oldaker’s honor in appreciation for the monetary endowment she left to the Greenwood Delta Lambda chapter.

Statewide scholarship
The Tri Kappa state organization annually awards a variety of scholarships to college students throughout Indiana each spring. Tri Kappa has been providing scholarships on the local, province and state levels since 1914, and combined Tri Kappa gave more than $1.5 million in 2023 alone to honor academic achievement.
To get more information about these scholarships and awards, go to trikappa.org/scholarships. Applicants should select the scholarship they wish to apply for, download the application and submit to the addresses provided no later than Jan. 31.
