The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) has introduced the Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will award two $500 scholarships each year.
“This new initiative (was) created to honor the legacy of retreading industry icon Marvin Bozarth,” say TRIB officials.
The scholarship fund “aims to support students pursuing technical education in the automotive and transportation sectors—particularly those interested in tire repair and retreading.”
Students who are currently enrolled in or are planning to attend trade or technical schools are eligible.
TRIB’s goal is to grow the fund to become self-sustaining and to offer up to four scholarships annually.
“Marvin Bozarth was a tireless advocate for the retreading industry and a passionate mentor to many,” says David Stevens, managing director of TRIB. “This scholarship is a tribute to his dedication and a way to invest in the next generation of technicians and retread professionals. We hope it helps ease the financial burden of education, while drawing more attention to the rewarding careers available in our industry.”
Donations are now being accepted via The Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship Fund Inc.; 202 18th Street NW #177; Washington DC; 20009.
As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, all contributions to the scholarship fund are fully tax-deductible. For more information or to contribute, please contact David Stevens at TRIB: 703-533-7677 or [email protected].
