TULSA, Okla. — Delta Dental of Oklahoma (DDOK) and the Delta Dental of Oklahoma Foundation announced its scholarship fund recipients at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry (OUCOD).
Mia Hatfield, a second-year dental student and Tulsa resident, is one of 10 OUCOD students receiving a $10,000 scholarship from DDOK for the 2024-25 academic year.
Hatfield is a second-year OUCOD dental student and the 2025-2026 American Student Dental Association Vendor Coordinator.
Her volunteer experience includes OUCOD’s philanthropic Kids’ Day event, and following graduation, Hatfield hopes to work as a dental professional in her hometown of Tulsa.
“These scholarships are awarded to deserving dental students who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to the community,” said John Gladden, Chairman, President and CEO of Delta Dental of Oklahoma. “Providing financial support to promising future dental professionals like Mia is just one of the ways DDOK fulfills its mission of advancing the oral health of all Oklahomans.”
Established in 2001, DDOK’s scholarship program provides financial support to deserving OUCOD dental students planning to practice within Oklahoma after graduation.
DDOK and its Foundation also provide stipends to dentistry students planning to practice within Oklahoma after graduation.
DDOK and its Foundation also provide stipends to dentistry students to help with their research projects.
With this year’s scholarships and research funding included, DDOK and its Foundation have granted more than $1.3 million to OUCOD students over the past 22 years.
“Thanks to the generous support of Delta Dental of Oklahoma and its Foundation, our students receive numerous educational resources needed to become impactful dental professionals,” said Paul M. Mullasseril, D.D.S., M.S., and Dean of the OU College of Dentistry. “We’re grateful for the organization’s continued commitment to investing in the future of dentistry in our state.”
