The Board of Directors of the Gene Kauffman Scholarship Foundation, Inc. has approved the latest recipients of its scholarship program. A total of 23 female graduates from North Mercer High School and Princeton High School in Mercer County, Missouri, have been awarded a combined total of $88,700 in scholarships for the Spring 2025 semester.
Each recipient has provided signed statements confirming they meet all eligibility criteria established by the program, including the unique requirement of being a non-smoker.
The scholarship recipients are attending a variety of Missouri institutions as required by the program. The recipients and their respective institutions are:
The Gene Kauffman Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is funded by a trust established by the late Edward E. “Gene” Kauffman of Princeton in Mercer County, Missouri. Kauffman outlined specific eligibility criteria for the scholarship program, requiring that recipients be female, unmarried, non-smoking graduates of Mercer County high schools who demonstrate financial need.
In addition to these requirements, recipients must enroll in and pass at least 12 credit hours at an accredited Missouri college or university while maintaining a designated grade point average. Each of the selected students has certified compliance with these conditions as set forth by Kauffman and the Board of Directors.
To qualify for scholarships in the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters, applicants must successfully file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by June 30, 2025.
Applications for the Fall 2025 semester will become available on May 1, 2025. Students can obtain an application from the Princeton R-V Principal’s Office or the North Mercer R-III Principal’s Office. Additionally, the application will be available on each school’s website.
