Two students in the University of Colorado Boulder’s College of Media and Communication program recently received scholarships that were affiliated with local news outlets, according to recently released university information.
The Lehman Communications Scholarship for 2024-25 went to Clare Henry, a journalism student. The scholarship is made possible by the Lehman family, the former owner and publisher of the Longmont Times-Call.
The Kevin Kaufman and Wendy Kale Scholarship for 2024-25 went to student Celia Vargas. Kaufman previously worked as the executive editor of the Daily Camera and vice president for news operations at Prairie Mountain Media. Kale worked as a music critic and writer for the Colorado Daily.
The CMCI program awards more than 45 scholarships annually to its students.
