SALISBURY — Two Salisbury-based Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) teammates — Billie Marie Logsdon and Cora Ingle — have received prestigious scholarships from the organization to support their continuing education.
They are among 10 LSC teammates in North and South Carolina awarded a total of $22,340 to further their education during the 2025–2026 academic year.
A certified nursing assistant and medical aide at LSC’s Trinity Oaks health and rehab, Logsdon received the Grady Scholarship — which was established through a bequest from the late E. B. Grady Jr., to support professional advancement on the Trinity Oaks campus.
Logsdon has been with LSC since 2023 and is studying to become a licensed practical nurse through Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
“I see education as a bridge: a bridge to practice within a work community and to contribute more professionally to a shared vision,” she said.
A teammate specialist with LSC’s Administrative Office, Ingle was also the life enrichment director for several years at LSC’s Trinity Place senior care community in Albemarle. She received an LSC Scholarship, which supports teammates whose studies will help them grow within the organization.
Ingle is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication and management at Wingate University.
“As I approach my tenth year with LSC, I continue to hold a deep belief in the mission, vision, and values our organization represents,” she said. “This degree will allow me to contribute even more to LSC’s success.”
LSC President and CEO Ted W. Goins, Jr. added, “LSC is committed to lifelong learning and growth. We are thrilled that our 10 scholarship-winning teammates are growing to better themselves and our organization.”
Lutheran Services Carolinas is a nonprofit organization serving more than 10,000 individuals across North and South Carolina. LSC operates 11 senior living communities in North Carolina and seven refugee resettlement offices across both states, as well as adult day programs and group homes, foster care and adoption services, mental health and recovery services and disaster response programs.
