PANAMA CITY BEACH ― Two students from A. Crawford Mosley High School have been awarded National Merit Scholarships.
This year, the prestigious $2,500 scholarship winners are Adelaide Genelin and Kaden Padgett.
The scholarships are awarded based on academic records, PSAT scores, extracurricular involvement, personal essays and school recommendations.
Padgett and Genelin were among 2,500 winners selected from a pool of more than 15,000 scholarship finalists. Genelin will pursue a degree in law, and Padgett is expected to study mechanical engineering.
The competition began in October 2023 in which more than 1.3 million juniors from across the country took the qualifying test.
By the end of the 2025 National Merit scholarship program, over 6,930 students will have received scholarships worth nearly $26 million.
“It has been a true pleasure to watch Adelaide and Kaden grow as scholars and leaders during their time at Mosley,” Mosley Principal Brian Bullock said in a press release. “Their recognition on the national stage is well-deserved, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements.”
