McKinley and the Taylor Community Development Corporation (TCDC) have awarded two recent Taylor High School graduates, Immanuel Greer and Alicia Taylor, college scholarships.
Greer, who played football and wrestled in high school, plans to join the U.S. Air Force to pursue a career as a pilot while exploring additional opportunities in engineering.
“We are so proud to support Immanuel and are excited to watch him in his journey,” says Will Epps, director of the Villages of Taylor, owned by McKinley. “He is an exceptional young man, and an excellent example of the student youth of our communities here. This is about more than financial support, it’s about helping young people achieve their dreams. Immanuel has our full support; we admire his dedication to serve our country while achieving his personal goals.”
Taylor will attend Henry Ford College to study Criminal Justice with aspirations of becoming an Investigator. She is also a talented self-taught seamstress, and most recently designed and sewed her own prom dress.
“We’re so proud to support Alicia and to help provide a foundation for her success,” said Epps. “Her story is truly inspiring, and we’re honored to be part of her journey. This scholarship is about more than just financial support—it’s about believing in our young people, recognizing their potential, and investing in their dreams. Alicia represents the very best of our community, and we can’t wait to see all the incredible things she will accomplish. Supporting her is exactly why this partnership was created.”
