The Mohammed bin Rashid Government Scholarships initiative opened registration for its next round of academic programmes starting in March 2026. The scholarships are offered in partnership with a select group of leading regional and international universities and academic institutions.
The initiative aims to strengthen the UAE government’s readiness for the coming decade by preparing highly-qualified professionals capable of driving economic growth, advancing digital transformation, and formulating knowledge-based, innovation-driven public policy.
The first project under the initiative offers scholarships for a Master’s degree in Economic and Public Policy and a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence in the Government Sector. Registration is available via the initiative’s website, www.mbrgs.ae, with December 28 set as the deadline.
Master of Applied Artificial Intelligence

The Master’s degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence is offered in cooperation with Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), ranked among the world’s top 20 universities in the field. Designed exclusively for government professionals, the programme combines advanced academic study with practical applications, including intensive laboratory work, hackathons, expert lectures, and sector-specific skills development. Sessions will be held in the evenings and on weekends at MBZUAI’s Abu Dhabi campus, running for twenty-four months from March 2026.
Participants will gain hands-on skills to design sustainable AI solutions, develop initiatives based on advanced technologies, enhance data analysis and problem-solving abilities, apply AI across industries and government entities, and lead multidisciplinary teams. They will also benefit from MBZUAI’s research environment and academic network.
Master of Science in Economics

A Master of Science in Economics is offered in partnership with New York University Abu Dhabi. The 18-month programme, beginning in March 2026 and including seven weeks of preparatory courses, combines theoretical foundations with applied projects and practical coursework.
Participants will develop advanced analytical and quantitative skills, translate economic theory into practice, strengthen critical thinking and communication, and gain a global perspective through NYU’s academic network.
Oxford Executive Diploma in Artificial Intelligence for Business

The initiative also opens registration for the Oxford Executive Diploma in Artificial Intelligence for Business, developed with the University of Oxford Saïd Business School. This one-year programme, starting in March 2026, is tailored for senior executives and government professionals.
The diploma equips participants with the skills to translate AI into strategic value, linking innovation in AI with business transformation. Delivered through four intensive modules in Oxford and Dubai, the programme emphasises ethical, responsible AI usage and provides access to a global network of senior leaders and Oxford graduates shaping the future of AI in business.
Empowering UAE talent

The Mohammed bin Rashid Government Scholarships initiative seeks to empower promising national talent across UAE government entities by offering advanced programmes with global recognition. The selected universities are chosen based on 2026 global rankings and a track record of excellence in economic strategy, international policy and AI innovation.
“We support initiatives that open new horizons for investment in digital economy sectors and help creators develop projects capable of competing on a global scale,” said Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy Saeed al-Gergawi.
“The Summit provides a strategic platform for content creators and digital entrepreneurs and contributes to advancing the digital economy ecosystem toward greater growth,” noted Director of the New Media Academy Hussein al-Atoli.
