National Park College Honors Day was attended by two representatives of the Hot Springs Chapter 80 United Daughters of the Confederacy. Crystal Harvey and Sunshine Spielvogle presented the chapter’s Chadwick-Butterworth Memorial Scholarship to Autumn Michau,” according to a news release.
“The scholarship was established 20 years ago when the Chadwick-Butterworth Chapter UDC disbanded. The remaining members requested that their remaining treasury balance be used to assist a student nurse’s ability to complete their educational goals,” the release said.
The amount of the scholarship will help Michau cover the cost of her NCLEX-RN exam.
“She has already accepted a position at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs hospital in the Acute Care Unit as an RN,” the release said. “UDC continues to support education through various scholarships and historical programs. Supporting the nurses and medical staff is important to the community.”
“The Hot Springs Chapter 80 UDC wishes Autumn Michau and all the medical sciences graduates the best in their career goals,” the release said.
