Hundreds of students, teachers, administrators, and community members will come together at the Urban League of Greater Madison’s annual MLK Outstanding Youth Recognition Breakfast to celebrate nearly 300 youth from 44 Dane County middle and high schools with Outstanding Young Person Awards on Sunday, Jan. 19, 8 a.m. at Edgewood High School.
The event will also feature a presentation of the Betty Franklin Hammonds and George Anglin Memorial Scholarships as well as the recognition of the latest cohort of MMSD Mann Scholars. Awardees were nominated by their schools for a combination of outstanding academic performance, leadership, and service in their schools and in their communities.
This marks the 41st Annual MLK Youth Recognition Breakfast and nearly 1,000 youth, family members, educators, and other community members are expected to attend.
The public can purchase tickets to the MLK Outstanding Youth Recognition Breakfast here. The cost is $10 which includes breakfast.
