UNION COUNTY – With beef month getting underway, the Union County Cattlemen’s Association is offering local students a unique opportunity to jumpstart their future agricultural education. The aptly titled Union County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship fund offers several scholarships to Union County High School seniors that plan to attend post high school education or training in agriculture. This is available to students pursuing a degree or certification in any agricultural field, not just those related to livestock or animals. As written in the 2025 application document:
“The Union County Cattlemen’s Association has established a scholarship fund from the generous donations of the association members to support future generations of those committed to serving in an agricultural field. The goal is to provide this scholarship annually to students in Union County who are seeking post-high school education and training (including but not limited to: trade schools, community college, public or private university) in any agricultural field.”
Multiple scholarships are available this year, with the specific number and value being determined at a later date based on the quality of candidates. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is March 17, 2025. According to the Intermountain Education Service District (IMESD), the scholarship committee plans to select winners in advance of local FFA banquets so that any recipients may be honored during their chapter’s banquet award ceremony.

Again, the deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m., March 17, 2025. Applications and all required documentation must be delivered or mailed to Mike Becker General Contractor at 10406 N McAlister Rd.
