MONROE COUNTY — United Way of Collier and the Keys (UWCK) recently announced the 2025 recipients of its Marine Science Educational Advancement Scholarship. This year, $47,500 has been awarded to 11 Monroe County residents pursuing degrees in marine science and related fields.
The recipients are Shannon DeWit, Maxwell Berthold, Ronald Petty, Kristen Szpak, Rocio Ornelas-Perez, Jim Brittsan, Zachary Yenor, Jessica Staton, Katy Borders, Ali Beth Wilson and Teagan Eriksen. To date, UWCK has awarded $116,185 in scholarships, with $38,815 remaining for its final year in 2026.
