The Department of Education (DoE), CTA, is pleased to announce the United World College (UWC) Scholarship for Entry 2026. This scholarship provides eligible Tibetan students with the opportunity to pursue the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, equivalent to Classes XI and XII, at one of the 18 United World Colleges worldwide. This initiative is in collaboration with the UWC Committee India, which will oversee the final selection of the Tibetan applicants.
Application Process:
1. Interested applicants must complete and submit the Initial Application Form by 21 September 2025 via the following link: [Initial Application Form]
2. The DoE will evaluate the submitted essays and shortlist 20 candidates by 3 October 2025.
3. A preliminary interview will be conducted by the DoE on 6 October 2025. Based on the interviews, a final shortlist of 10 candidates will be selected and notified to proceed to the next stage.
4. The 10 shortlisted candidates will be required to complete the UWC application form. Additional instructions will be provided in due course.
5. The final selection for UWC Entry 2026 will be made by UWC Committee India.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Applicant must be a Tibetan refugee student. Both the applicant and their parents must have valid Green Book contributions paid up to March 2025.
2. Applicants must have valid Registration Certificate and valid travel document Certificate of Identity (COI)/ Identity Certificate (IC).
3. Applicants must have secured minimum 75% marks in class IX.
4. Applicants should currently be enrolled in Class X or XI and born between 01 September 2008 and 01 September 2010.
5. Applicant must have studied Tibetan language until Class X or must pass the Tibetan Language Proficiency Test (TLPT) to be conducted by DoE on 24th September 2025.
Documents to be Submitted:
1. The Tibetan Settlement Office stamped “Form A”. [Form A]
2. Attested copy of Birth Certificate.
3. Attested copy of a valid Certificate of Identity (COI)/ Identity Certificate (IC).
4. Attested academic marksheets/ transcripts for Class IX (mandatory) and Class X (if available)
5. Recent passport-sized photograph.
6. Five essays. (Word limit: 350)
7. Resume/ Curriculum Vitae (CV) with photo.
Important Notes:
All applicants are required to check their email daily and will be responsible for any missed communications.
Applicants are advised to monitor their email closely between 22 September and 6 October 2025 for important announcements and updates.
