The University of Alabama’s Early College has a new opportunity for local high school students interested in continuing their education.
Early College is now offering two new freshman-year scholarship opportunities for in-state high school students who are already participating in the program.
The Crimson Start Scholarship will award $1,500 to students who complete 17 credit hours through Early College by December of their senior year of high school with a minimum 2.75 UA GPA and enroll as full-time freshmen at the University of Alabama.
The Capstone Start Scholarship offers $3,000 to students who complete 24 credit hours through Early College by December of their senior year with at least a 2.75 UA GPA who enroll as full-time freshman.
These scholarships are stackable with other UA scholarships up to the cost of tuition.
“These scholarships recognize the hard work and commitment of our Early College students,” said UA Early College Director Lynette Campos. “By earning UA credit while still in high school, these students demonstrate drive and determination, and we are proud to invest in their success as they continue at the University of Alabama.”
UA Early College allows motivated high school students to take courses taught by University of Alabama faculty online or on campus, giving them the opportunity to earn college credit and experience UA academics before graduating high school.
