INTRODUCTION

The University of Malta seeks to attract top quality students from countries outside the European Union/EEA and is offering tuition fee waivers of 40 to 100 per cent awarded to most deserving students.  

ELIGIBILITY

The following documents should be attached to the application email:

  • Copy of the Acceptance Letter
  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae, and
  • A motivational letter, and
  • Copy of Passport (details page)

For each candidate, the International Office will request an Academic Recommendation Form from the Head of Department, Supervisor or Director of the academic area concerned.  This document seeks to provide insight to the academic aspects of the research.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Scholarships will cover:

  • Payment of the University of Malta Tuition Fee
  • A subsistence allowance amounting to €1200 per month to be used towards accommodation, transport, living and academic expenses and any other costs that may arise during the student’s residence in Malta.*  
  • One return journey – the cost of which is capped at €1500. Any additional trips or travel costs higher than this amount will have to be covered by the student.
  • Health Insurance to cover a premium up to a maximum of €500 per year (capped at €1000 for the duration of the course). Students will be guided on this and other arrangements upon arrival.
  • Reimbursement for visa expenses the cost of which is capped at €66.
