Sheffield Postgraduate Scholarships: Candidates should be aware that master's degrees split between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution are ineligible for scholarship applications
The University of Sheffield, in the United Kingdom, is awarding 75 International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships in 2025. Each scholarship covers £10,000 of the initial tuition fee for a postgraduate taught programme beginning in September 2025.
Scholarships are open to all new overseas students who meet the eligibility requirements. Applicants must have an offer to study at the University of Sheffield.
University of Sheffield eligibility criteria
A panel of senior members of staff will select the strongest applications based on the following criteria- the applicant should provide examples of achievements that demonstrate quality and initiative in educational, volunteer, or professional settings. Applicants must demonstrate how their achievements are relevant to the course for which they have applied at the University of Sheffield, as well as how they relate to their future goals. The applicant needs to have a good academic background as well. All Crossways and Erasmus Mundus courses are, however, ineligible for merit scholarships.
The deadline for scholarship applications is May 12. If an applicant is offered the scholarship, they will be requested to confirm acceptance by a specific date. The University of Sheffield is a public research university in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, which was ranked 98th globally according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 2025. It was named University of the Year and the Best for Student Life by the National Student Survey, in 2024.
