RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Anthropology Graduate Student Organization (BOAS) at the University of Nevada, Reno is hosting a scholarship fundraising event on Saturday, April 12. Members of the Anthropology community (with heavy emphasis on local archaeology) will get together to raise money and network at the BOAS Bash.
Jackson C. Mueller stopped by Morning Break to event the community to the event that started nearly20 years ago. The event takes place Saturday, April 12 from 4- 7 p.m. at Lead Dog Brewing.
BOAS Bash was founded by a former grad student and local geoarchaeologist. She saw it as an opportunity to not only raise funds from local cultural resource firms and other community members, but to introduce UNR students to people and companies they would likely be working with after graduation. It’s become a bit of a tradition in the anthropological community of Northern Nevada. Click here to learn more about the department research and laboratory facilities.
