UToledo says Hope Toledo has no outstanding balances at the university – WTVG

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The Toledo non-profit organization that aims to put local students through college has paid its bill at the University of Toledo.
A spokesperson for UToledo said HOPE Toledo has now paid $139,000 for students enrolled under the HOPE Toledo promise.
The university told 13 Action News earlier Thursday that the organization had an outstanding bill, but later said they found the money in a different account than was expected. They clarified that HOPE Toledo has no outstanding balances at this time.
The 13 Action News I-TEAM first reported months ago that the organization was failing to pay its bills, leaving the student’s educations in jeopardy.
At Lourdes University, two students who just graduated had balances paid in full, but some of the scholars enrolled for the upcoming school year will have payments due fall and spring.
The I-TEAM has reached out to Hope Toledo to clarify what bills remain unpaid and when they plan to fix the issue.
