TAYLORVILLE — The University Women of Christian County met for the final meeting of the 2024-25 season on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Whit’s End.
Scholarships of $2000 each were awarded to two college women of Christian County.
New officers for the 2025-26 season were installed. The new officers are: Pat Schneider, UWCC President; Carol Alexander, UWCC 1st Vice President; Jenny Moats UWCC 2nd Vice President; Hannah Jelly, UWCC Secretary; Karen Palmer, UWCC Treasurer.
The UWCC garage sale is Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6. This garage sale provides financial resources for the scholarships to be awarded next season.
The new season will begin in September, 2025 with a new group of interesting speakers.

Aubrey Kietzman and Kaylee Zahradka each received a $2,000 scholarship offered this year by University Women of Christian County (UWCC). They were chosen from 16 applicants. Scholarship Chairman Ann Chandler presented a check to each scholarship winner at the June meeting of UWCC.
Aubrey Kietzman is the daughter of Kevin and Sarah Kietzman of Taylorville. She is a graduate of Taylorville High School. She is a sophomore at Illinois College located in Jacksonville. She is planning to obtain her Bachelor in Kinesiology degree. After graduating she plans to attend a graduate school and study Physical Therapy in order to work with children to help them achieve milestones in their development. She has been employed as a tour guide at Illinois College, as an IHSA Basketball Official, an umpire for the Stonington Little League, and Easterday Electrical in order to help pay for her college expenses.
Kaylee Zahradka is the daughter of Rudy Zahradka of Pana and Erica Zahradka of Assumption. She is a graduate of Pana High School. She is a senior at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston. She is earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She plans to work at a school district in Christian County and hopes to teach first or second grade. She plans to eventually return to school to obtain a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. She currently works at Brewin’ Hope as a job coach to help with college expenses.
