VELVA, N.D. (KMOT) – Members of the 2006 Velva High School graduating class are establishing an endowment scholarship in honor of the memory of two of their fellow Aggie alums.
Anita Knutson, who graduated in 2006, was killed in June 2007. Her brother Daniel Knutson, a 2008 grad, died in April 2013.
The Anita and Daniel Knutson Memorial Scholarship Fund is in partnership with the Velva Area Dollars for Scholars program.
Organizers tell Your News Leader the scholarship will be limited to a Velva High School Graduate. They say their hope is to award the scholarship to someone entering elementary education, which Anita planned to pursue a career in, or to base it on volunteerism and character.
