WATERLOO — Two local students have received scholarships from Veridian Credit Union.
Layna Mee of Waterloo, a student at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, and Amaiyah Korf, a Cedar Falls High School student who plans to attend Iowa State University in Ames, each received $2,000 scholarships.
Applicants submitted an essay defining their sense of community and providing examples of service to community. Veridian scholarships were administered in partnership with the Iowa Credit Union Foundation.
The Iowa Credit Union Foundation also recently awarded an additional $1,500 through Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarships to Veridian member Kendall Cortelyou, a Denver High School student.
