Vermillion P.E.O., Chapter E, recently awarded two $500 scholarships to 2025 Vermillion High School graduates. The recipients are Holly Nesmith and Madigan Wallin.
Nesmith is a National Merit Finalist who will be attending USD in the fall of 2025 to major in Conservation Biology. She is passionate about protecting threatened and endangered habitats and animals.
Wallin is a top student who lettered in softball, soccer and basketball. She is excited about attending Mount Marty University in the fall of 2025 to pursue her passion for nursing while continuing to play softball, the sport she loves.
P.E.O. was founded in 1869 and has always been dedicated to helping women meet their educational goals. Vermillion Chapter E was organized in 1909 and is dedicated to supporting women through education. The chapter has 47 members who meet 15 times during the year. Members are educated through interesting programs and raise money for scholarships through member donations and fund raisers.
