VFW YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS OFFER BIG OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL STUDENTS – wfiwradio.com

The Wayne County Memorial VFW Post 4535 in Fairfield is encouraging area students to apply for the prestigious VFW Youth Scholarships, which promote patriotism and invest in the next generation of leaders.
High school students with a passion for democracy can compete in the “Voice of Democracy” audio-essay competition for a chance to win a $35,000 college scholarship. Middle school students are also invited to participate, with scholarships of up to $5,000 available.
Established in 1947, the Voice of Democracy program challenges students to record original essays on patriotic themes. This year’s theme is: “How Are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country?” Local winners will advance for the chance to earn larger scholarships at the state and national level.
Students interested in participating can pick up application materials from their local VFW Post, including Wayne County Memorial VFW Post 4535 in Fairfield. For more information, visit vfw.org/community/youth-and-education/youth-scholarships or call Linda Shelton at 618-599-6390.
These scholarships are an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their patriotism and potentially earn significant funding for their education.
