CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — James River Equipment, as part of a new partnership with the Virginia High School League, is going to be providing $13,000 in scholarships to high school students pursuing higher education or vocational training.
The scholarships will be awarded to deserving students who demonstrate leadership, commitment and excellence in VHSL-sponsored activities, with a focus on students interested in fields like agriculture, engineering, technology and skilled trades.
“We are thrilled to welcome James River Equipment as a valued partner of the VHSL,” said Dr. John “Billy” Haun, VHSL executive director. “Their commitment to education and support for career development align perfectly with our goals. Together, we are enhancing the opportunities available to Virginia’s students, both in their extracurricular activities and through financial support to pursue their dreams after high school.”
Alongside the scholarships, James River Equipment will sponsor key VHSL events throughout the year and provide opportunities for students, athletes and fans to engage with their team directly.
“Supporting our local communities, schools, and students has always been a priority for James River Equipment,” said Dustin Freeman, vice president of product support at James River Equipment.
