VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Vicksburg native Teryn Green is quickly making a name for himself on the recruiting trail as one of Hartfield Academy’s top football prospects this season while heading into his senior year.
Green, a strong safety for Hartfield Academy in Flowood, has received multiple scholarship offers in recent months, drawing attention from programs across the region. His first offer came from the University of Central Arkansas last summer, just before the start of his junior season.
Since then, his offer list has grown significantly. Green now holds offers from Arkansas State, Southeastern Louisiana, Western Kentucky, Austin Peay, Jacksonville State, Mississippi Valley State, Navy, and the University of South Alabama.
Green began his high school career at Warren Central, where he played under head coach Josh Morgan. As a sophomore in the 2023 season, he helped the Vikings to a district championship. He transferred to Hartfield Academy ahead of his junior season and earned a starting role in the secondary.
At Hartfield, Green made an immediate impact. He finished the 2024 season with 43 tackles and three interceptions, helping lead the Hawks to a 12-2 record and a state championship under head coach Craig Bowman.
Now in summer workouts, Green is preparing for what is expected to be an even more productive senior season. Coaches and scouts are keeping a close eye on the rising star, and additional offers are likely as the season approaches.
Green remains one of the most talked-about defensive backs in Mississippi’s Class of 2026.
