A Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos member who was a finalist in Cox Mobile’s national phone case design contest is now in the running for the fan favorite’s contest.
The contest, which celebrates and expands Cox’s longstanding partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, encouraged teen club members in Cox markets to submit a phone case design to be voted on and selected to receive a $5,000 scholarship.
Aimee G. of San Marcos has been recognized as one of 22 finalists.

According to Cox officials, the San Diegan teen’s design was based on “a future where we can come together as humanity to help preserve our beloved earth with more sustainable practices like utilizing renewable energy like windmills,” and “a world that is more harmonious meshing modern human life and technology with the more natural world.”
“My illustration is one of a dream to pass on the world as we know it with all its life on to future generations,” the teen said in a statement.
People can cast their vote for the winner at at www.cox.com/phonecasecontest and in local Cox retail stores until April 18.
The Fan Favorite Contest was announced as an addition to the original Mobile Phone Case Design Contest, where a Louisiana teen won the grand prize scholarship of $25,000 in late March.
