A number of Waverly-Shell Rock High School senior wrestlers were awarded with scholarships on Sunday, April 13. Among the recipients were Zander Wedemeier, Ethan Bibler, Caden Wetherell, Bas Diaz, and Ryker Graff.
Three wrestlers were awarded with the Jace Smith Scholarship. For this award, wrestler’s had to write about what their “why” is in life, or in other words, what motivates them to do what they do every day. The recipients for this award were Zander Wedemeier, Ethan Bibler, and Caden Wetherell.
The other scholarship handed was the Waverly Area Wrestling Club (WAWC) Scholarship. For this award, wrestlers had to write about what Go-Hawk wrestling has meant to them over their time at Waverly-Shell Rock. Recipients for this award included Zander Wedemeier, Ethan Bibler, Bas Diaz, Ryker Graff, and Caden Wetherell.
