Delta Technical College calling on high school seniors
A competition is on the way that could earn tens of thousand of dollars worth of scholarship money for local high school students.
Delta Technical College is holding this year’s High School Welding Competition at its Ridgeland and Horn Lake campuses Thursday and Friday, February 27 & 28.

The 2024 competitions in Ridgeland and Horn Lake awarded $45,000 in scholarships to Memphis and Jackson area high school seniors. The first prize winner of this year’s competition will take home a $5,000 scholarship to Delta Technical College and a $1,000 donation to help fund their high school’s welding department. Second- and third-prize recipients will receive $2,500 and $1,000 scholarships to complete their welding training at Delta Technical College.
All competition participants will receive a $500 scholarship to Delta Technical College. Competitors will complete a timed welding project that will be judged by a panel of welding faculty and staff.
