West Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association now accepting applications for the Marcus W. Rennix Memorial Scholarship until September 30 – WOAY-TV

Charleston, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association is now accepting applications for the Marcus W. Rennix Memorial Scholarship, offering a $5,000 boost to in-state students studying horticulture, landscape architecture, or greenhouse and nursery management.
To qualify, students must be West Virginia residents, hold a minimum GPA of 2.5, and have completed at least half of their coursework in their field of study.
The deadline to apply is September 30.
WVNLA President Bobby Gompers says the goal is to support and grow the next generation of green industry leaders.
Several current board members, including Jason Testman of Valley Gardens and Michael and Patrick Biafore of Biafore Landscape Development, are past recipients of the scholarship.
Testman, now the association’s vice president, says the award helped him complete his education, and he hopes to pay it forward through mentorship.
