HAGERSTOWN — The Hagerstown Community College Foundation received a $5,000 donation for the Larry E. Small Memorial Scholarship from David Yohman, retired HCC faculty member and former Maryland State Police officer, on behalf of the Western Maryland Troopers Association.
The Larry E. Small Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Trooper Larry Eugene Small, a Maryland State Police officer from Hagerstown who was tragically killed in the line of duty in 1987. The scholarship is available for sophomores enrolled in the Administration of Justice Program at HCC.
“As troopers and members of the law enforcement community, we believe in encouraging the next generation of justice professionals,” said Yohman. “This gift reflects our commitment to students who are passionate about serving their communities and pursuing a career in the administration of justice.”
Maryland State Trooper Larry Small, an HCC alumnus, is remembered in recognition of his service and dedication. For more information on the Larry E. Small Memorial Scholarship or other scholarship opportunities, please visit https://hagerstowncc.academicworks.com/opportunities or contact the HCC Foundation Office at collegeadvancement@hagerstowncc.edu or 240-500-2348.
