Wheelhouse Credit Union is encouraging San Diego college-bound high school seniors to apply for its 2025 scholarship programs. Open to any local students, these programs will provide $10,000 in scholarships.
“As a local San Diego credit union, we’re excited to continue our commitment to offer scholarship programs supporting students in two areas critical to the health of our community,” said Wheelhouse President/CEO Lisa Paul-Hill. “Our Badge of Honor Scholarships honor and recognize the bravery and sacrifices of first responders and their families, and our Sustainability Scholarships support high school leaders passionate about environmental initiatives. We encourage local students to apply for these scholarships so we can assist their educational journey.”
Interested students can find more information and apply online at WheelhouseCU.com/scholarships. Credit union membership is not required, and applications will be accepted through April 30, 2025. Both programs are designed to recognize and reward exceptional students who demonstrate leadership, a commitment to public service, and a desire to make a impact on their communities.
The Credit Union’s annual College Scholarship Program was created in 2005 to support high school seniors in San Diego County who are leaders in two areas of focus for the credit union: environmental sustainability and supporting first responders. The credit union has awarded $126,000 in scholarships since the creation of the program.
Nominations are now open for the 2025 Lighthouse Awards, which honor school and community leaders in equity, diversity, and inclusion. The honorees will be recognized during the SDCOE Equity Conference on May 28-30.
