BENTON HARBOR, Mich. — The Whirlpool Foundation has awarded 23 scholarships to students of Whirlpool Corporation employees.
According to an announcement, the scholarships are part of the Sons & Daughters College & Vocational Training Scholarship Program, now in its 73rd year. This program recognizes high school seniors from Whirlpool locations, including 10 U.S. manufacturing communities. The Whirlpool Foundation offers these scholarships through a competitive process, allowing children of over 20,000 Whirlpool employees to apply.
The selected local recipients for 2025 are Chase Russell, child of Bobby Russell, and Mackenzie Hurley, child of Joshua Hurley.
The Sons & Daughters College & Vocational Training Scholarship Program has awarded more than 2,600 scholarships and honor awards, totaling over $18 million. Currently, 89 scholarship recipients are attending colleges, universities and vocational schools across the U.S. Eligible students include those who are children of full-time Whirlpool employees at the director level and below.
Students pursuing a four-year degree will receive $30,000 over four years, while those working toward a two-year vocational degree will receive $15,000 over two years. To maintain their scholarship, students must keep a grade point average of at least 2.8.
