Three Guntersville Wildcats signed their football scholarships on Wednesday during National Signing Day.
Julyon Jordan (South Alabama), Enelson Delva (Army) and Treyvon Avery (North Alabama) all signed their scholarships to continue their academic and athletic careers on Wednesday.
“We are very proud of the players who signed scholarships. It’s always great to see our players get a chance at the next level. These guys are members of a very talented senior class who played a big role in the success we had the past few seasons,” said Lance Reese, head coach of Guntersville. Reese will enter his 16th season as the Wildcat head coach in 2025.
Jordan, Delva and Avery were a part of a special senior class that took the Wildcats to a semifinal finish in 2023 and a near-perfect regular season in 2024, as the Wildcats finished 9-1 in both regular seasons.
The Wildcats won the Class 5A, Region 7 Championship in 2023, while they split a Region Championship with Scottsboro and Boaz this season. The 2023 Wildcats saw playoff wins against Springville, John Carroll and Pleasant Grove before falling to the eventual runner-up Ramsey.
The 2024 Wildcats fell short in the first round of the playoffs against a talented Leeds team.
Reese said all three players will conduct signing ceremonies in the new Guntersville High School, which is scheduled to open in January.
