George William Wilson was recently awarded the Abe Hatcher Memorial Young Farmer Scholarship at the Tennessee Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Summer Conference held at the Farm Bureau Exposition Center in Lebanon. Wilson is from McMinn County and attends the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. The Abe Hatcher Memorial Young Farmer Scholarship is awarded to a college sophomore, junior or senior. The scholarship recipient must be a Tennessee resident, agriculture or music major, YF&R member, Farm Bureau family member and possess leadership activities. Three scholarships are awarded annually at the Tennessee Young Farmers Conference Banquet. Each scholarship is $1,500 for the 2025-2026 academic year.
